Our Website Has a New Look

If you've visited wb9hxg.blogspot.com lately, you may notice things look a little different. We've given the club website a fresh, modern design. All of our posts, pages and photos are right where they've always been.

What's new:

• Works on your phone. The site now fits any screen. On a phone, tap ☰ Menu at the top to see every page.
• Home and Blog. Home is now our Welcome page, the best place to start if you're new to the club. All club news and announcements are under Blog.
• Next meeting, always up top. A box on the right (or below the posts on a phone) shows our next meeting: the 4th Monday at 7:00 PM at the American Legion, 418 N Walnut St, with a map button.
• What's coming up. Upcoming club events now show right in the sidebar, straight from the club calendar.
• A little more Muncie. The header now shows the Ball State campus behind our familiar cornfield banner, in cardinal red. Our WB9HXG club seal now shows on your browser tab too.
• Easier to find things. A cleaner menu in a more logical order, a "Follow MAARC" row for YouTube, X, Facebook and RSS, and an archive dropdown to browse older posts.
• Weather alerts that work again. The Delaware County NWS alerts box now pulls from the National Weather Service's current feed.

Updated news and calendar feeds

We've retired our old FeedBurner feeds, both the club news feed and the calendar feed. Google ended FeedBurner's email service back in July 2021, so if you used to get our posts by email and stopped hearing from us around then, that's why.

Club Meetings Moving to 7:00 PM

Starting with our next meeting on Monday, October 26, MAARC meetings will begin at 7:00 PM at the American Legion. We'll keep this later start time through at least January.

The change is to fit around my evening college classes this semester. Thanks to everyone for being flexible. Same place, just a little later in the evening.

January 26th meeting Canceled Due to inclement Weather

Due to current weather conditions and for the safety of our members, the amateur radio club meeting scheduled for Monday,January 26 at 6:30 PM has been canceled. MD380 tools link to the md380 tools github page to download vm that will load contacts and firmware to radio. 

MD380 and UV380 DMR Codeplugs for east central Indiana

Once the UV380 cps is installed you will load the application and then go four columns to the right and the second option down once selected will change the language to English.

After loading codeplugs you need to change the radio name and the DMR id number to the name you want and the id assigined to you by radioid.net.

Join us for the first Muncie Area Amateur Radio Club meeting of the year! We’re excited to host a presentation on DMR radio programming, so bring your DMR radio. It’s a great opportunity to expand your skills and connect with fellow amateur radio enthusiasts!

We will also hold nominations for the Club Trustee position. Trustees must hold a General class license or higher, be a current club member, and serve a four-year term. Your vote matters, so come and participate in this important process.

I’d like to thank everyone who made it to our Christmas party on December 18th at Union Chapel. We all had a fantastic time and enjoyed some amazing food. A special thanks goes out to  Shannon, Bill, Diana, and Greg for providing the delicious ham and other tasty dishes. I’d also like to express our gratitude to Union Chapel for allowing us to use their facility for this special event.
